Today we see more and more international brand food chains in India, however students at Panbai International School were educated on Indian cultures across different states along with each state expressing its tradition through its cuisine.
Every state has its speciality and teachers of PBIS came up with a wonderful idea of celebrating the School’s Food Festival in a different and new way on Friday, 23rd February 2018 wherin every student was asked to carry a pre-determined snack representing their state. There was a mini-buffet arranged in the school atrium during the long break where the snacks brought by the students were mixed together and served in a plate consisting of 7 food varieties from the various states of India.
The different states and food varieties displayed were as follows:
Kolkata – Rasgullas
Sikkim – Momos
Maharashtra – Batata Vada
Gujarat – Dhokla
Kerala – Idli Sambar
Punjab – Samosa
Rajasthan – Kachori
Children had a great experience sharing their food with friends and learning about different food cultures in a fun way.
