INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
“Yoga lets people discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature”
This is the famous quote that was given by our honorable prime minister who took the initiative of creating the importance of our rich culture by taking Yoga on an international platform and declaring 21st June as International Yoga day.
Taking forward the message of our Prime Minister, Panbai International School celebrated this day on a grand scale involving students as well as parents to participate and acknowledge the importance and richness of our heritage and culture.
The day commenced with a special assembly conducted by the students in the school atrium, who showcased a video which showed the inception of Yoga and how it came into existence since the era of kings and sages who practiced this unique and health inspiring techniques which bought oneness with the universe. This special assembly was led by our secondary teacher, Ms.Namrata Parekh.
The next session started with the students of the secondary grade accompanied by parents who entered the atrium followed by the special guest of honour, Ms. Reeta Sabhani who lit the auspicious lamp on this occasion and was felicitated by a bouquet of flowers by our respected Principal, Ms. Pratibha Mishra. Ms Vaibhavi gave a brief introduction about the guest of honour.
This was followed by the students who displayed the various asanas and enlightened us about the various health benefits by following these techniques.
In the midst of soothing and calming music, the Yoga instructor Ms. Reeta Sabhani depicted the various asanas and showed the flexibility that she achieved due to these asanas. She led everyone present to a warm up session and a deep meditation after which she instructed everyone present to be stress free and connect oneself with the divinity and show gratitude towards the people around them, to the creator and to the less fortunate.
Finally towards the end of the session, one of the parents went up on stage and thanked the school management for a wonderful experience and requested Principal Ma’am to have more such sessions in the future.
The session was concluded by a vote of thanks and presentation of a small memento to the guest of honour, Ms.Reeta Sabhani on behalf of the school management.
