What are the eligibility criteria for admission in your school?
The first criteria is the age. The child needs to fit in the age bar as prescribed by education department for a particular grade. Applicant then needs to clear the interview rounds and the entrance test for the admission to be confirmed. To know more about age criteria for admissions at PBIS visit our admissions page.
Do you have Bus facility? Which area?
Yes bus facility is available. Our buses cover the areas from Andheri to Bandra to Dadar (East & West both). For more information please see the Transport section of the website.
Is Canteen facility available? Is it compulsory to opt?
We have partnered with Royal Foods which provides healthy snacks during the snack and lunch break.
What is CAIE?
Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE) is the Cambridge programme that takes students on a journey through Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Secondary 1, Cambridge Secondary 2 and Cambridge Advanced. Students can join at any stage.
What is IGCSE?
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a globally recognised qualification, taken at the Grade 10 level, similar to the Class 10 examinations of the CBSE and ICSE or the middle years Programme of the IB.
The final examinations are offered every year in March, June and November.
What’s the evaluation / assessment pattern?
The evaluation/assessment pattern is in line with Cambridge Assessment International Examinations norms and regulations. Our assessment tools are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy of learning and it governs the formative and summative assessment pattern.
Does school offer extra – curricular activities?
Extra-curricular activities form an integral part of our curriculum. We offer robotics, music, dance, skating, martial arts, cricket, basketball, football and in addition to this we also provide a platform for our students to participate in external competitions and examinations.
How often does a parent meet the class teachers or subject teachers in a year / month?
Parents meet the class teacher or subject teachers on a prescribed day of the week, mentioned in the almanac with prior appointment.
Is the IGCSE Programme recognized by Higher Secondary Boards and Universities in India?
Yes IGCSE programme is recognized by boards and universities in India. A collection of statements from institutions in India that accept Cambridge qualifications is available on www.cie.org.uk/programmes and qualifications.
What is Cambridge CHECKPOINT?
Cambridge Checkpoint are diagnostic assessments that provide an international benchmark of students achievement, and helps to identify learners’ strengths and weaknesses and give advice on progression routes. These tests can be used to monitor learners’ readiness for the next stage of education.
What curriculum is followed in the Pre-primary level at PBIS?
The curriculum is customized in line with Cambridge learning attributes. Children in the pre primary learn by playing and exploring called the Playway Methodology adapted from the world famous Finnish curriculum.
What are Cambridge International AS and A Level exams?
Cambridge International AS and A Level exams is typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for university and higher education.
How are the teachers trained to teach CIE qualifications at PBIS?
We offer a number of routes for training teachers according to their experience and needs, ranging from subject-specific training to professional development qualifications. This is done through online and face to face trainings offered by CIE. Our teachers also attend various workshops and trainings organized by MISA (Members of International Schools Association) and British Council from time to time.
